Lucy Rose has over 20 years of experience in Human Resource management. She is currently the Vice President of Human Resources at East Bay Community Action Program in Rhode Island. Lucy has a bachelor degree in Business Management from Lesley University, Massachusetts, and expects to obtain her Masters’ degree in Intercultural Relations from the same institution in May 2015. Lucy is also a Certified Behavioral Interviewer. She has also been selected to participate in Leadership RI class of 2015.
Lucy’s affiliations with non-profit organizations include the Cape Verdean Progressive Center, the National Alliance Cape Verdean Organization (NACVO), the Cape Verdean Museum Exhibit, the Rhode Island Affirmative Action Professional, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Lucy’s personal achievements include the New York City Marathon in 2004, a 100 mile “Century” Bike Ride Fund-Raiser for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2009, the Creator and Director of Virtual Cape Verde series with Providence Community Libraries 2014, and the International Women's Day Celebration Award Recipient in 2014.
Lucy was born in RI and is of Cape Verdean descent. Lucy has visited most of the Cape Verdean islands and in July 2014 became a citizen of Cabo Verde. Her personal mission is to ensure that the Cape Verdean heritage and culture are passed to the next generation of Cape Verdean Americans.
